EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro Electric Scooter Review

EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro Electric Scooter Review

Compact sport electric scooters offer riders a good balance between portability and power, making them an ideal choice for most commuters. Among these types of e-scooters, the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro challenges other models with its specs and features.

The EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro focuses on performance, comfort, security, and style. Moreover, it offers features you don’t see in most e-scooters, like an NFC lock, adjustable stem, foldable handlebars, dual swingarm suspensions, and all-around deck lights.

Despite its unique features and promising specs, how does it perform, and is it worth buying? If you’ve been eyeing this electric scooter, we explore its specs and features and give our honest perspective in this EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro review.

Design and Build Quality

The EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro features a standard-sized stem and deck and sports an all-black colour with white brand accents on the side of the stem and the centre of its deck.

However, what sets it apart from most e-scooters is its 360° lighting system. Few e-scooters within its class feature an all-around deck lighting system, making the e-scooter more distinguishable. Moreover, the lights don’t add style to the e-scooter but also functionality, as they can act as a night light, making riders more visible on the road.

Also, notice how the stem’s upper part becomes slimmer. This EleKtro electric scooter includes an adjustable stem, allowing you to lengthen or shorten the stem depending on your height. As a result, you’ll have a more comfortable riding position.

Regarding build quality, it uses aluminium alloy for the stem, a common durable material used in most e-scooters. Also, it has a max load of 120 kg, making it suitable for heavier riders.

Overall, the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro has a typical e-scooter design accented by deck lights. Moreover, it has a solid feel, no loose screws, and no cheap parts.

Battery and Charging

This EleKtro electric scooter uses a 48 V 15.6 Ah battery with six to eight hours of charging. Compared to compact sports e-scooters like the VSETT 9 and Bolzzen Commando 4818, the Ultra 8 Pro offers a smaller battery capacity.

As a result, it can only reach up to 55 km of range, unlike its peers. Nonetheless, it still provides a decent battery capacity and range for its class. Moreover, the unit has a shorter charging time than most similar e-scooters, making this a plus for riders who don’t like waiting long for their e-scooters to recharge fully.

Motor and Performance

The EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro features a dual 600 W motor, which produces a total power of 1200 W. It also produces a top speed of 55 kph, capped at 25 kph in compliance with Australian e-scooter law.

Most of the Ultra 8 Pro’s peers feature a single motor, making it a cut above the rest in terms of performance. Having dual motors produces more speed and power, allowing you to ride through most terrains and up to 20° hills at your desired speed. However, we remind riders only to exceed the speed limit when riding on private property.

Comfort and Ride Quality

Since the Ultra 8 Pro can ride through most terrains, its dual swingarm suspensions keep you from shaking or rattling too much, especially on bumpy paths.

The suspensions absorb the shocks on the road, cushioning your rides and making you more comfortable and stable while riding. Most e-scooters in this class use suspensions and offer the same riding experience.

Meanwhile, this EleKtro electric scooter’s tyres also add to your overall comfort. It features 8.5-inch front pneumatic and rear solid tyres. The pneumatic tyres in the front add extra cushioning, while the solid rear tyres mean you don’t have to worry about having a flat rear tyre when going through rough paths.

Safety Features

The EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro offers various safety features to keep you safe on the road and prevent others from accessing your e-scooter.

This electric scooter uses drum brakes, a type of braking system with good braking force. This type of brake also lasts longer, making them easier to maintain. Upon testing, the Ultra 8 Pro’s brakes are responsive and have good stopping power, even at high speeds.

When it comes to safety lights, it has a small, round front light at the lower part of the stem. The light is bright enough and has good road coverage, ideal for night riding. The 360 lights also give you extra visibility at night, but it’s not bright enough to illuminate your surrounding area.

Unfortunately, the Ultra 8 Pro doesn’t have a prominent rear light. However, the ends of the deck light can be seen at the back when lit. However, it’s too little to be considered a rear light. We recommend wearing a reflective vest or a helmet with rear light to keep you visible from oncoming vehicles at night.

Finally, the Ultra 8 Pro features an NFC lock activated by a key card. Most e-scooters don’t have this security feature. It’s a convenient and secure way to keep your e-scooter safe from people who want to use your e-scooter without your permission. It comes with two small key cards that you can hang on your e-scooter while riding or keep in your pocket.

Portability and Storage

Despite having dual motors, the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro is a foldable and portable electric scooter. It weighs 24 kg, which is still a decent weight to carry around.

Also, this electric commuter scooter uses foldable handlebars, making it easier to store or bring in small spaces, like an elevator or small garage.

This e-scooter folds in half, making it convenient for people who need to store them in smaller spaces, like under desks or lockers. Also, carrying them up the stairs is easier since riders can hold it by its stem.

Price and Value for Money

The EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro costs $1,899 on Scooteroo. Compared to other compact sport electric scooters, it’s one of the more decent-priced options in the market. Though it’s not as affordable as the Kintech Venom 8, it’s also not too expensive.

Given its high specs, build quality, and unique features, the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro is a quality electric scooter worth its price. You get what you pay for, especially if you need a powerful portable electric scooter for daily commutes.

Comparison with other Electric Scooters

How does the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro compare to other models within its class?

Unlike others, the Ultra 8 Pro uses dual 600 W motors, producing higher combined power. This extra performance makes the e-scooter a great choice if you want to ride most terrains easily.

Moreover, the e-scooter includes practical features like the NFC lock, which adds an extra layer of security to your e-scooter. Plus, it has an adjustable stem and foldable handlebars that helps you find a comfortable riding position and reduce the dimensions of your e-cooter for easier storage.

Meanwhile, the Ultra 8 Pro doesn’t fold in half, making it less portable than most e-scooters in its class. It also has a lower battery capacity than others, but it’s not a major concern since it can produce a higher speed and more power. Plus, it doesn’t have a rear light.

Overall, the EleKtro Ultra 8 Pro is class-leading when it comes to power, performance, and security. However, it lacks in a few minor areas that can be inconvenient for some riders.

Nonetheless, the Ultra 8 Pro is a good quality electric scooter for those who need a daily ride that can handle most terrains.
